Images of Westchester and Playa del Rey’s past haunt tomorrows future if LAWA and ALPA pursue moving the runways north. Pictures of homes that were condemned back in the 70′s resulting in the loss of 4,500 homes and 14,000 residents.

[...] We’ve already lost 4,400 homes, three schools and set back business growth in the Westchester business district for 40 years [...]
I have some Playa Del Rey Images that make one pause to consider that over 800 homes were demolished West of LAX by 1971. Newspaper articles have referred to it as a ghost town. The pictures on : http://swc-biogon.smugmug.com/gallery/3616971_cUEoq#317965548_vBYa6 were taken on October 9, 10 2000, not much has changed since then.
